September 2008: Maartje Nillesen has won the prize for the best poster presentation by a junior reasearcher at the anual meeting of the Dutch Society for Medical Physics.
This year, a special competition for junior researchers in the field of Biomedical Engineering was organised to celebrate the 35th anniversary of the society. Maartje presented here work on an automated technique to determine cardiac output in non-standard ultrasound images. This research is a collaboration with Willem de Boode of the Department of Neonatology and Livia Kapusta from the Department of Pediatric Cardiology. The award comes with a cheque.
