October 2006: Richard Lopata has won the Young Investigator Award during the 2006 IEEE Ultrasonics International Symposium in Vancouver (Canada).
Out of around 150 submissions, Richard’s work entitled “In Vivo 3D Cardiac and Skeletal Muscle Strain Estimation” was selected for the final, in which he had to compete with five other young researchers. Therefore, besides the oral presentation on this topic, he also had to prepare a poster presentation for this final round. He did an excellent job during the defense of his work as demonstrated by winning the award.
