Tim_Idzenga vhas been nominated for the Simon Stevin Gezel Award 2009

2010: Tim_Idzenga vhas been nominated for the Simon Stevin Gezel Award 2009, an award for scientists who received their PhD in 2008 on a project funded by the Dutch Technology Foundation.

In his thesis, titled ‘Acoustic Non-Invasive Diagnosis of Urinary Bladder Obstruction’, he develops a non-invasive method to diagnose an enlarged prostate obstructing the urinary bladder in men with voiding symptoms. This method is based on listening to the urinary stream during voiding. Interviews with the nominees are published by the Dutch Technology Foundation in a book ‘Technologisch Toptalent 2009'. Tim did his PhD-research at the Dept. of Urology, Erasmus MC, Rotterdam. Currently he works as a postdoc on shear strain imaging to monitor plaque progression.
